The next three days

irevuo_proudto<- This is the badge Adrian designed.

Anyway, on a more serious note. The website is fully functional. And, quite frankly, I’m starting to get the hang of it. Especially with that whole Midnight Muse thing. But I’m also searching for great artists, some of which I already contacted. I know Adrian is working on a little surprise for you, something like a Christmas present to all those that helped and supported irevuo all these weeks.

It’s the 22nd of December. The world didn’t end. In fact, nothing happened. But this also means that we’ve got only three more days on our Indiegogo campaign. Three more days to receive funds for our magazine.

The first issue should come out sometime in January. It’s going to be top priority once Christmas (and this campaign) is over. Articles, reviews, features, interviews, the interior layout, the cover. It’s quite some work.

But to be honest, all this makes me feel young again. I used to work for an online gaming magazine when I was a kid, and all the work I’ve been doing for irevuo (and all the work I’ll do) reminds me of those times. Life was simpler back then.

One of our top priorities was to buy Adobe Digital Publishing, a piece of software which would allow us to create stunning digital magazines. Also, we wanted to buy premium plugins which would allow us to set up our own e-store, so that people could order/buy issues of our magazine(and other merchandise) directly from the website.

We’re almost there.

Ever since I first mentioned that we want to buy ADP, we started running into a lot of trouble with the website. At times it seemed that the world conspired against us. We lost a theme and a lot of premium plugins, all worth hundreds of dollars.

I know I don’t have the right to ask for more. It’s not decent. You’ve already supported this project, in every way possible. irevuo is online because of you. We got that space, we’re building an online community because of you. Thanks to you, I can now proudly show that badge on my website.

The next three days are crucial. Or close enough. Because the amount we raise in the following 72 hours will determine how big we can dream, how much we can expand irevuo.

I once said that we all should set small achievable goals and crazy, crazy dreams. I’ve got all sorts of crazy dreams with irevuo.

If you believe that irevuo is an idea worth supporting, this is your last chance to do so. To help us become better. To help us release a stunning magazine in January. That’s what we want. To make something as good as it can be. We don’t want to settle for less than professional, because we believe that the way we present our magazine to the world also affects the way the world will receive it.

No money? That’s okay. A share, a tweet, a mention in a blog post, all that means a lot of help. It means that you want to make our dream come true. It means that you support our project, that you believe in this crazy, crazy dream of ours.

Less than two months ago I just had this idea. I didn’t even have a name. I didn’t know how to implement this idea, how to even begin. I didn’t know if I could do it, if I wasn’t dreaming too big. I didn’t know if I had the time, the patience, the right tools.

Now, we’ve got a website, we’re building an online community, and we’re incredibly close to releasing a print/digital magazine in January.

That’s something that I couldn’t have done on my own. No questions asked. All by myself, I couldn’t have succeeded in getting this website up and ready so fast.

Like I said, three days, 72 hours which will decide how much we’re allowed to dream.

It's cool you did all that work in less than two months. I'm about as poor as a college grad can get but I'll share this post with as many people as I can. You're an inspiration.

  7. Good luck! I need to find out what this gig is all about. I've been out of the loop a bit. Very excited for you though! Dream BIG!
