Only you can make it happen… kind of

I don’t think I’m really good at this crowdfunding thingy. I mean, I can’t write down a bunch of stuff about how important your contributions are, how only you can make my dream come true, how bla, bla.

But the truth is that so far 64 people have contributed to my campaign, raising a total of $2,058. That’s an average of $32. Of course, people have contributed anything from $1 to $500. Which is super cool.

With only 5 days to go, there’s still $442 to be raised. I could say something like, I believe we can do it, or I could say the opposite, and tell you that I’m worried sick about the campaign not reaching its goal. About me not reaching my goal. About my dream withering away and dying. Stuff that’s supposed to make you want to contribute.

But I’m not going to. The link is here, and there are plenty of cool perks still available, including 16 limited edition hardcovers you won’t be able to buy anywhere else. They’ll be hand numbered and signed by me, and they’ll have a different cover from the regular paperback. So, yeah, it’s kind of my favorite perk, mostly because I’ve always wanted to have a hardcover with my name on it.

Maybe some of you are asking yourselves why is it so important that I reach my goal? Well, for once, I get $442 more dollars, which is quite a lot considering that almost $1,000 have been spent on my new laptop. Also, if I do reach my goal, Indiegogo will refund 5% of the total money raised, which is another $125. So, that’s $567 more.

So, yeah, only you can make it happen… kind of.

  1. I think you're doing great. I've been trying to raise just a small amount for the Qigong center I'm starting and just don't know how to promote it t all. I wanted to put it on the sidebar in my Biting The Plum blog and couldn't even figure out how to do that!

Cristian – I appreciate your writing and enjoy what you have to say. If I weren't a starving artist myself, I would surely send you the money you need. You've put it out there to the Universe, so I'm sure someone will come through for you! Keep the faith, baby.

Reblogged this on H.R.M. Stoker and commented:
As I am unable to help out financially, I thought I'd try to help out through raising awareness. I hope you will spread the word if you're unable to donate.

    Thank you!
