afraid“You are afraid to die, and you’re afraid to live. What a way to exist.” – Neale Donald Walsch

Afraid. To live. To die. To get hurt. To hurt others. Afraid. Of failure. Of success. Of getting stuck somewhere in between. Afraid of doing nothing at all, afraid of overdoing it. Afraid of yourself, afraid of others. Rationalizing. Being practical. Over-intellectualizing. Holding back. Waiting for the right moment and the right place.

Finding excuses. Blaming yourself. Blaming others. Telling yourself that you’ve got enough time.

“If only…”

“When I…”

“What if…”

You are afraid. And most times you don’t even realize it. And everyone else is just as afraid as you are. A bit ironic, but it’s true.

Keep that in mind. No one is fearless, no one is perfect, and no one is better.

We just are. You just are.

But it would be a damn shame if you didn’t do what you’ve always wanted to do simply because you’re afraid.

    • Because we either try to control it or fight it or destroy it. We think that we shouldn’t feel it…but the truth is that we can only accept it, but also realize that fear is an ilussion, a product of our imagination. It exists, it always will, but this mustn’t force us into surrender.

  1. Thank you so much for this! It was exactly what I needed to hear this morning, and a whole host of low-grade unconscious fears that I’ve been carrying for about a month since we’ve been travelling in Turkey simply flooded away. Down the drain. Thank you. I read this to Don and it hit home for him too. Don’t ever doubt that your writing is of value. I’m sure this kind of thing happens far far more often than people actually let you know about. Thank you again. I’m feeling lighter than I have in weeks! And I love Neale Donald Walsch.
