The Inner Game

”It all comes down to the inner game. Changing your life is a change in the inner game.” – Tony Robbins
There are so many external factors that influence our lives that it’s easy to waste our efforts trying to change them according to our desires.

Mastering others is, indeed, power, but having control over oneself, one’s emotions and feelings, that is where true strength resides.

Because it doesn’t matter what happens in your life, you are the one who decides how to react.

To paraphrase Viktor Frankl, this is the one freedom that no one can take from you.

All else is temporary. Fragile, uncertain.

Your thoughts, your inner world, the happiness that you create(or not) for yourself, these are the only things you’ll ever have control over. As long as you make it a personal goal.

Let me give you an example: happiness.

And you all know the terrible cliche that happiness comes from within. It sounds too good to be true. It seems almost impossible.

Two people who have exact same circumstances in life. They earn the same amount of money, live in the same neighborhood, have the same kind of relationships with others. One is happy, the other is not.

It’s all about their own perspectives.

The inner game, how well they control it.

If you are  dependant on external factors, you’ll never be content. It’s a fact.

If you constantly compare yourself to others, there will always be someone who has more. Someone who’s better.

In the end, the insecurities you can’t change will end up destroying you.

You know, the ones you don’t like to admit.

Funny thing: what is the best answer when someone asks you if you have insecurities?

Who doesn’t?

  2. I agree with you completely. You have to start with yourself.

Very true, everybody has it within themselves to do what they want with themselves. How you feel about yourself is a very powerful and underrated tool.
