The Underdog Mentality

They say second place is the first among the last.
But think about it this way: if you are the smartest guy in the room, doesn’t our natural tendency towards complacency take over?

Don’t we become satisfied with who we are and our place in the world?

After all, when you are the best among your peers, it does seems as if you reached the top. There’s no where else to go.

Is it?

In truth, we should always have this underdog mentality.

There’s always room for improvement.

While you can never be perfect, you can always strive for excelence.

Proud but never satisfied.

Always the hardest worker in the room.

In order to achieve greatly, these are the mental attributes required.

A willingness to give 100% when everyone else wouldn’t even bother to show up.
