Giving the Gift of Kindness: 4 Tips to Get Started Today!

While working as a waitress at a family restaurant in my home town, I witnessed a genuinely kind gesture.

That night, after returning home from work, I felt compelled to write about it.

I logged onto my personal Facebook page and began typing.

“Tonight, a young couple, seated at the center table, called me over and asked to pay for an elderly man’s meal. After paying the man’s check, they finished their dinner and left the restaurant without saying a word. When the elderly man, who had been dining alone, asked for his bill, I told him that it was paid for by another guest. He was obviously surprised and the look on his face was one of both joy and gratitude. He felt special.”

  1. I thought that was a great post.

One of the nicest things that ever happened to us was one evening someone and a dozen pizzas delivered to our Police Station. Now cops tend to be a pretty cynical bunch and the first thing that we think of is “What’s wrong with them”. To understand why we’d even ask such a thing, a lot of cops divide the world into two parts, “us and everyone else”. They also subscribe to the old philosophy of life that “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you”.

Well, of course there was nothing wrong with the Pizza’s. At the end of the day, it was just someone wanting to be nice and buy us supper.

And, oh. The cheese pizza was awesome!
