Three Things

Life is simple. Happiness is simple. Success is simple. Love is simple. Even death is a simple process.

It’s us humans who make things intolerably complicated.

Read this recipe out loud. Only three things to be happy… It seems to good to be true, doesn’t it?

But what if it is true and you’ve been chasing after the wrong things all your life?

Someone to love

In uncertainty I am certain that underneath their topmost layers of frailty men want to be good and want to be loved. Indeed, most of their vices are attempted shortcuts to love. When a man comes to die, no matter what his talents and influence and genius, if he dies unloved his life must be a failure to him and his dying a cold horror… – John Steinbeck

There is much to write about love. So much, in fact, that I’d prefer not to write anything at all.

But it is important. It makes us feel alive. It makes us human.

To love is a piece of Heaven on Earth.

And there are many kinds of love. And there are many ways to make the hearts of those around us beat a little bit faster, their smiles bigger, the light in their eyes stronger…

Something to do

I had to decide what I was going to do, and what I was going to be.
I was standing there, waiting for someone to do something , till I realized the person I was waiting for was myself. – Markus Zusak

A mind kept busy is a happy one. Who know what he wants, what to do to get it, and does so according to his beliefs and principles.

It doesn’t matter what you do. If it makes you excited, if it makes you happy, do it.

Something to hope for

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all. – Emily Dickinson

Hope. Man’s greatest strength and greatest weakness.

It helps us get over almost anything. If you have hope, you can survive anything.

Also, there’s got to be more waiting for you on the other side of your struggles, and you need hope to see it.

Progress makes us happy, the ability to see that progress before it happens makes us want to pursue it.

Without hope, we’d never try and fail and try and fail and do so until we succeed.

Without hope, when things go south, if you didn’t expect them to ever get better, there would be no reason to keep trying, to keep living.

Hope keeps us together when all we want to do is fall apart.

  1. Mr Mihal.

Your writing is obviously representative. I don’t care. Know that my grandfather was from a village bordering modern Ukraine and Romania. Nazis would not let him see his brother. They were not Jews and proved it. He came here as an engineer and started as a waiter before at&t hired him. He spoke eleven languages. Rode horses against tanks. I watched him go senile when I was ten. I stared when this foreign man, this respected man died.
