You’ve got to love yourself

Do you know this cliche that the world acts as a mirror? We see what we want to see; what we expect to happen becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and will inevitably happen?

Well, it’s true.

If you don’t love yourself, why should anyone else? If you don’t trust yourself, how can you expect others to trust you? Relying on external validation never lasts.

But you know what lasts?

Looking at your own reflection in the mirror and deciding each day that you are good enough. Laugh at yourself a bit. Don’t step outside, holding a gun to your head, reflecting on your flaws and bad habits, and hoping that others won’t notice them.

Simply put, what matters most is how you see yourself. Even if you have a negative self-image, maybe especially then.

Decide each day that you love yourself. Accept all the things that you can’t change, learn to shut out the voices that tell you that you are not enough. Because you are.

There’s greatness within you. There’s passion and love and excitement.

The most beautiful person is someone who smiles and talks with enthusiasm about what they love.

If you can’t accept yourself, how can others expect to be accepted by you?

If you can’t find meaning in your life, a higher sense of purpose, how can others see how wonderful you are when your eyes light up with passion?

You’ve got to love yourself. Through the good days and through the bad ones as well.

You’ve got to love yourself, no matter what.

You are human. You are flawed. But you are beautiful. You are worthy of love. You are magnificent.

  1. I try to remind myself everyday that it’s okay to cry, be anxious, feel disappointed and all the sad feelings, I am human so why not? But however, to always remember that those feelings pass, they don’t last forever so I shouldn’t cling to it, it’s part of my life as a human being, I should embrace all the shades. Every color and shade of me is gorgeous.
