Do you vacation on Someday Isle?

“Putting things off is the biggest waste of life: it snatches away each day as it comes, and denies us the present by promising the future. The greatest obstacle to living is expectancy, which hangs upon tomorrow and loses today. You are arranging what lies in Fortune’s control, and abandoning what lies in yours. What are you looking at? To what goal are you straining? The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately.”Seneca

Somehow I believe that it’s human nature to dream, to imagine a better life. It’s how we evolve and develop. But dreaming is one thing, striving to achieve that dream another.

But it’s difficult, right?

To find the energy, the time, the motivation to pursue your dreams…

I believe that the most important requirement to success is the ability to pursue your dreams no matter what. I believe that what really sets people apart is what they do when they don’t feel like doing anything. Or when they fail.

Another thing is the fear of failure, which, sadly, kills a lot more dreams than failure itself.

Putting things off is no solution. It just gives you a little bit of hope… like a sedative. It dulls the senses. It gives you something to look forward to.

But it’s just that.

Staring at a point in the distance, hoping for it to come to us.

“Here” and “now” create our future. Not “tomorrow”, not “someday.” It’s in the present that we take the decisions that ultimately become our destiny.

So, what have you done today to make your life better? Or the lives of others?
