“It’s at the borders of pain and suffering that the men are separated from the boys.” – Emil Zatopek
Everybody wants to eat, but few are willing to hunt. Everybody’s got a plan, a goal, a dream, and they give up on it as soon as their first failure.
The man who fears losing has already lost. The man who is afraid of getting punched in the face will never live life on his terms.
I used to be the archetypal nice guy. Trying to play nice, because I didn’t want to get hurt. Afraid to ask questions because I was afraid of being told “no.”
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, adverbs, regrets, and all sorts of people who never had the guts to do what they knew in their hearts was right.
Fear is such a debilitating disease.
Life will punch you in the face. Often. It’s just how it is.
You either dust yourself off and try again, or you throw in the towel. But never forget these words: the most heartbreaking thing you’ll experience is wishing that you hadn’t given up.
When you’re too old and it’s over and you can’t do it anymore. When you can’t pursue your dream, when you can’t start that business you’ve always wanted, when you can’t spend more time with the ones you love…
Keep your head high. Always.
I didn’t use to do that. I lost so much because of it.
Head high. Back straight. Shoulders back. Confident. Calm. Competent.
Words to remember. Words to enforce.
Walk up to a mirror and tell yourself that you love yourself.
Overcome your fears.
Fight for what you want.
If you lose, you’ll be at peace knowing that you at least tried.
I strenuously believe that courage is built by doing such things. Small failures. You face your fears, you fail, but you gain self-confidence because you didn’t back down.
Never, ever, ever retreat. Never surrender.
Face it. Whatever it is. Face it. Always face it.
It’s not the fall that breaks you, but your fear of falling.
I’d like to thank Robert, Frank, and all the others who have donated so far.
We’re currently some $4,838 away from reaching the goal for this year. The budget I require to keep on fighting for my dream.
