“The struggle alone pleases us, not the victory.” – Blaise Pascal
Imagine if somehow, through a miraculous occurrence, you’d be offered the chance to get what you want most out of life. Your heart’s desire. Right here, right now.
Would you take it?
No strings attached, no soul-selling required.
But would you take it? Would you want to get all that you ever wished for right now?
Would you be able to hold on to it? Appreciate it?
Do you have the knowledge, experience, mental state, support system, friends to keep this dream come true a reality?
Think about this next time you feel like complaining about how hard it is, how other people are always luckier, how this and that and some other stuff are always keeping you from getting what you want.
Because it’s not about what you want, it’s about becoming the kind of person who deserves it. It’s about the journey to becoming the type of person who embodies the qualities required to get that out of life.
That is all there is.
It’s not the destination, but rather the journey.
It’s not the victory, but the struggle that pleases us.
The more we fight, the more we appreciate when we win.
It’s not the success, but the overcoming of failure…
The more you work, the harder you fight, the luckier you get. This is something you should never forget.
I believe Machiavelli said taking a throne is superior to being born into it, because the former is something earned while the latter is pure chance.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is that if you reach the top of one mountain there will always be another summit off in the distance to climb.

I gave a “yes” to all of your questions accept one. Also, since I do not allow my mind to live in a sphere of entitlement, I do not allow myself to feel as though I deserve anything. I merely, do the best that I can and if God grants me various graces then I am grateful that He allows me to eat the fruit of some of my positive efforts. It’s all by His grace. But that’s the way I do it.

The more we fight, the more we appreciate when we win. So true! Thank you. Once in awhile I need to remind myself that it’s the journey that’s so meaningful.
