These 7 Daring Ideas Could Change Your Life

“Daring ideas are like chessmen moved forward. They may be beaten, but they may start a winning game.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

If there’s one thing I learned is that your thoughts determine the outcome of your life. But thinking is hard work, which is why we tend to avoid it.

We rarely think about ideas as the framework upon which we can build the life we want.

My father always used to say that those who have lots of ideas were idiots, but the truth is that ideas can change your reality for better or worse.

That’s why I am going to share with you seven ideas that will forever transform your life. Ready? Let’s get started.

1. Little by little, a little becomes a lot.

Do you want to conquer the world? Make an impact on other people’s lives? Become a millionaire? Find lasting love?

Want to know the heartbreaking truth? We all dream impossibly big dreams, yet we often fail to act upon them.

Because we focus on the big things that we can’t do, rather than using our time to do what we can do.

The little things that are within our control. The day to day habits.

Ever thought that writing a book requires that you write one word after another?

Building the longest wall in the history of the world requires that you place one brick at a time.

Put in the work, day after day after day. You will be surprised by how much you can improve your life if you just aim for the incremental, for the compounding interest.

If you aim for a 0.1% increase, if you aim to read 20 pages every day, or write five hundred words every day.

Don’t underestimate the importance of what you do on a daily basis, and do not judge how much you can do long term by what you accomplish in a day.

2. Opportunity doesn’t know unless you build a door.

I bet you noticed that those who tend to avoid problems are also the ones who have to navigate through more and more problems.

It’s so because problems are opportunities in disguise. Problems are your chance to change the direction of your life after having spent too much time being reactive.

Opportunities often look like obstacles at first. The great products were invented in order to solve what most people thought of as a problem. After all, we’re blogging on a platform that was designed so people could reach one another effortlessly.

3. There’s no way to pay someone else to do your push-ups for you, but plenty will ask for your money anyway.

Everything worth doing requires a lot of effort. Anyone who tells you differently is trying to sell you something.

Stop looking for the quick fix.

There’s no five minute ab workout that will grant you a six pack in a month or so. There’s no shortcut, growth hack, or online course that will help you achieve instant success, instant confidence, or become irresistible to others.

And the paradox is that there are a lot of folks out there who figured out there’s no shortcut, but they are selling shortcuts that obviously don’t work to those who are still trying to find them.

Life’s all about hard work. If you don’t do the work, life’s going to be hard. It’s as simple as that. Enjoy the work, the process, the feeling you get before embarking on the strange and perilous odyssey of achieving mastery.

4. If you want to conquer the world, conquer yourself first.

Mastery over oneself is what is required if we wish to change others. If we cannot control our own emotions, thoughts, or actions, we cannot aspire to become leaders.

Who would ever want to follow someone who isn’t in charge of their own lives?

It’s not climbing the mountain that ruins you, but rather the pebble in your shoe. It’s your own thought and ideas that destroy you.

The world changes its opinion of you the day after you do.

5. If you act, you might fail. If you do not act, you fail by default.

The highly ineffective person wastes their life by planning for a life without failure. Their goal is perfection.

A successful and fulfilled person knows that perfection is a lie, and a failure that teaches is much better than failing to act.

In a world of ideas, the only idea that matters is the one that encourages execution.

6. You must first believe in whatever it is you’re selling.

Everyone is selling something. When you’re dating, you’re selling yourself. When you apply for a job, when you a trying to sell a product, or trying to build an audience for your blog.

If you believe in whatever it is you’re selling, you know who to sell to, how that product is going to help people, and you don’t take “no” for an answer.

You will either find a way or make one.

If you do not believe in your product, you will let the world tell you how much it’s worth, and you won’t like it. Not one bit.

7. Self-confidence is the by-product of competence.

If you want supreme self-confidence, become good at something.

It’s as simple as that.

The more skills you acquire, the more confident you become.

Don’t waste your time listening to motivational talks or whispering affirmations in front of a mirror.

Self-confidence isn’t a hack. It’s the one thing you can’t fake. It’s the reveal of your most authentic self.

And if you don’t know you can get the job done, possibly better than anyone else, then you won’t be confident.

Life’s a game of ideas that have to be implemented on a daily basis.

Never stop thinking of ways to improve your life, your health, your wealth.

Think of the principles that come together in order to create a meaningful life, work on them until you know exactly what you have to do.

And, most of all, keep looking for ways to improve your life.
